About Pay.news

Independent payments news and research.
Follow the evidence. Understand the change.

Pay.news watches 30 public sources: regulators, card networks, payment infrastructure bodies, banks, payment companies and specialist media. It collects, deduplicates and scores what they publish, groups reports of the same event, and publishes a daily brief every morning at 08:00 Beijing time. Coverage spans payment rails, cards, banking, acquiring, compliance and licensing; stablecoins and crypto payments are included where they affect how money actually moves.

How Pay.news works

Diagram: each line is one source; lines bundle up when several reports cover the same event; only a few bundles pass the selection gate and reach the daily brief.

Everything collected is kept and deduplicated; reports of the same event are grouped together. Sources that only count towards attention are included too — that is how trending is computed.

A model first decides whether an item belongs to the payments industry, then scores it twice against the published rubric and writes the Chinese headline, summary and why-it-matters line. Promotional copy and duplicate reposts are filtered out, and claims that cannot be traced to a source are not selected.
