1. Who we are

Pay.news (hereinafter "we") provides a news aggregation, summarization, and research information service covering global payments, banking, cards, fintech, stablecoins, and related fields.

This notice applies to the following services:

  • The Pay.news website: https://pay.news
  • The Pay.news iOS application (App Store name: Pay.news)
  • Other services operated by us that explicitly refer to this notice

Operating entity and contact details:

  • Legal name: Dogads Limited
  • Company Registration No.: 78263101 (Hong Kong, China)
  • Contact address: Room 703, 7/F, Leader Commercial Building, 54-56 Hillwood Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong, China
  • Privacy contact email: [email protected]
  • Website: https://pay.news

The operating entity of this service is Dogads Limited, registered in Hong Kong, China.

We value user privacy and process personal information according to the principle of data minimization.

2. No account required

The public news-reading functionality of Pay.news does not require registration or login.

  • We do not ask you to provide your name, phone number, or personal email to browse public news.
  • We have no account system, and therefore no "account deletion" procedure.
  • Contact information you voluntarily leave through the feedback channel is handled under Section 6.

3. Data stored only on your device

To provide a convenient reading experience, the iOS application stores the following on your device locally:

  • Saved items — so you can revisit them in "Saved"; not uploaded
  • Push topic preferences — remembers the notification categories you selected; sent with the subscription request only when you enable push (see Section 5)
  • Onboarding-seen marker — so the first-run guide is not shown again; not uploaded
  • Reading and interface settings — preserves interface state; not uploaded

This data is stored in the local storage allocated to the app by the system. We do not read it through our servers, and it is not synced across devices (because there is no account). Clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app removes this content.

The app provides export and import for your saved data so you can back it up yourself.

If in the future some setting or reading data needs to be synced to our servers, we will update this notice before enabling that feature.

4. Analytics on the website

The Pay.news website uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand page views and some usage, in order to improve content and the product.

  • This analytics loads only in the website's production environment; it is not loaded in the admin backend.
  • We have enabled IP anonymization.
  • Data involved in analytics is processed by Google under its applicable terms. For specifics and the rights you may exercise, see the Google Privacy Policy.

The website and the iOS app are two separate processing contexts — please do not conflate them:

ItemWebsite (browser)iOS app
AnalyticsGoogle Analytics (GA4)No analytics SDK of any kind
Crash collectionNot applicableNo crash-collection SDK of any kind

In other words: the iOS app embeds no third-party analytics or crash-collection tools. Your in-app browsing behavior is not tracked or reported.

5. Push notifications

The Pay.news iOS app supports news and industry push notifications. Push is optional: without enabling notifications, you can still use all of the app's reading features in full.

We do not request notification permission the moment the app opens; instead, when you actively turn on the notifications switch, we first explain the purpose, and only then does the system show the authorization prompt.

After you consent to notifications and enable push, the app will:

  1. Obtain a push token (device token) from the Apple Push Notification service (APNs);
  2. Send, over HTTPS, that token, the platform identifier (ios), your device's language preference, and the push categories you selected, to our server;
  3. The server delivers messages to the corresponding device accordingly.

Data we process:

DataPurposeNote
APNs push tokenDeliveryA random string identifying "which device to deliver to"; contains no name or contact details
Push category preferencesDeliveryWhich topics you choose to receive
Delivery statusDeduplication and unread countAvoid delivering the same item twice

This data is used only to provide, maintain, and protect the notification function. We do not use it for cross-company advertising tracking, nor do we sell it to data brokers.

A few additions about the push token:

  • We do not associate the push token with any identity — our server records contain no account, no advertising identifier (IDFA), no device model, and no network address of yours.
  • When you turn push off in the app, we simultaneously ask the server to delete that subscription record and unregister the local device.
  • If APNs reports a token as invalid (for example, because the app was uninstalled), we automatically delete the corresponding record.
  • You may also request deletion via the email in Section 1.

You can turn off notifications at any time under iOS Settings → Notifications → Pay.news. The app also provides an in-app switch and, when the system denies permission, an entry point that jumps to system settings.

On marketing push: currently we send only the news notifications you subscribed to (including the daily brief), and do not send commercial advertisements or promotional content. If we introduce marketing push in the future, we will seek your separate consent and provide an independent opt-out, and will not treat your news-notification consent as marketing consent.

6. Feedback and support

When you voluntarily submit feedback, we may process:

  • The feedback content you enter
  • The email address you voluntarily provide (optional)
  • Screenshots you voluntarily attach (optional)
  • Information about the relevant page or feature
  • Limited technical information needed to prevent abuse

This data is used to respond to your request, investigate faults, correct content, or improve the service.

Not providing an email does not affect your use of any reading feature.

To prevent abuse, the server computes an irreversible hash from your network address and browser class (for rate limiting and blocking abusive sources). The raw network address is not stored.

7. Server logs and security

The website and the iOS app share the same server. For service delivery, troubleshooting, security monitoring, and abuse prevention, the server may process necessary technical information:

  • Network address (only when troubleshooting or handling errors)
  • Request time and request path
  • Client technical information
  • Error and security event records

We do not keep per-request access logs, and we do not record request query parameters in logs (for example, the keywords you search within the app).

The specific retention periods for container logs, reverse proxy, and CDN in the production environment must be filled in after the operator confirms them; until then, we do not state a specific number of days here.

8. Third-party services

To operate Pay.news, we may use hosting, CDN, security, push, and analytics service providers.

Where personal data is involved, we adopt reasonable data-protection measures in accordance with applicable law and contract, and require the relevant providers to process data only for the agreed purpose.

The actual categories and names of providers used must be supplemented after the operator confirms them; until that supplementation is complete, this section does not constitute a complete list of third parties.

For third-party original-article links, after you click through you are subject to the privacy policy of the respective third-party website.

We do not sell users' personal data.

9. News content and external links

Pay.news aggregates news from public sources, showing headlines, summaries, editorial rationales, and original links, with attribution to the source.

  • We do not claim copyright over third-party content; copyright in the originals belongs to each source.
  • Clicking an original link leaves our service and the other party's privacy policy applies.
  • Images within news bodies are proxied through our service, so your device does not make requests directly to third-party sites.

10. AI-assisted content

Pay.news uses automated techniques to organize public news sources and to generate summaries, event classifications, and supporting analysis. These processes operate on public news content and are not aimed at building individual user profiles.

Automatically generated content may contain omissions or errors; for important information, rely on the original source.

At present we do not send your personal information to third-party AI services. If doing so becomes necessary in the future, we will assess and fulfill the applicable notice and consent obligations before enabling it.

11. Data retention and deletion

We retain data only for as long as needed to achieve the corresponding purpose, or as required by applicable law.

  • Push tokens and subscription preferences — deleted when you turn off push, or when APNs reports the token invalid
  • Feedback content, optional email, and screenshots — retained as needed after handling; you may request deletion at any time
  • Server error logs — retention period to be confirmed (see Section 7)
  • Device-local data — entirely under your control; cleared on uninstall

The specific retention periods and deletion cycles for each category of data must be filled in after the operator confirms them against the actual system configuration.

You may request access, correction, or deletion of data to which you are entitled under applicable law via the privacy contact email in Section 1.

Because we have no account system, to locate the relevant feedback or push records we may need you to provide a small amount of reasonable information (for example, a feedback number or an approximate submission time). This is solely to avoid deleting someone else's data by mistake.

12. Your rights

Under the law applicable in your region, you may have the following rights:

  • To inquire about and access your personal information
  • To correct inaccurate information
  • To request deletion of data
  • To withdraw consent you previously gave
  • To object to or restrict specific processing
  • To complain about a privacy issue

Please submit requests via the privacy contact email in Section 1, and we will process them in accordance with applicable law.

13. Data security

We adopt technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature and risk of the data, including, where applicable, encrypted transmission (HTTPS), access controls, and security monitoring.

No internet transmission or storage can be guaranteed absolutely secure, but we take reasonable steps to reduce the risk of unauthorized access, disclosure, and abuse.

14. Cross-border processing

Pay.news may serve users in different countries and regions.

If personal information needs to be processed cross-border, we will take necessary protective measures based on the actual data flows and applicable law, and provide additional notice where applicable.

The actual regions where servers and databases are located, and where third-party providers process data, must be filled in after the operator confirms them.

The operating entity, Dogads Limited, is registered in Hong Kong, China. We serve users across different countries and regions, so your information may be processed by servers located outside your own region.

15. Children's privacy

Pay.news is an information service aimed at the general public and payments-industry readers; it is not specifically designed for children and does not target children as users.

We do not actively solicit personal data from children. If we discover data processing that does not comply with applicable children's privacy regulations, we will take appropriate measures.

The App Store age rating follows the result filled in according to Apple's questionnaire at submission time.

16. Updates to this notice

We may update this notice based on product features, technical architecture, or legal requirements.

When there are material changes, we will notify you through an appropriate channel and update the version and effective date at the top of this page.

If the law requires separate consent for new processing, we will complete the necessary steps before implementation.
