The Singapore Police Force (SPF) has adopted 6000 0999 as the unified number for all outbound calls to combat impersonation scams, becoming the first Singapore government agency to use a single outbound caller ID. After each call, recipients will receive an automated SMS from the official “gov.sg” sender ID; the number is for phone calls only and is not used for WhatsApp or Telegram. From January to September 2026, the scams caused at least 1,310 cases and S$53.3 million in losses. The public can call 1799 to verify suspicious calls.
